Vimal Wakhlu, the former Chairman & Managing Director of Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL), is a highly experienced telecom and IT professional with 41 years in the field. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, and an MBA in Marketing from IGNOU. His career spans a range of technologies, including e-Networks, mobile, satellite, microwave, troposcatter, and more. He served in key roles at NHPC, VSNL (now Tata Communications Ltd.), DOT, and BSNL. Notably, Mr. Wakhlu played a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the Pan African e-Network Project, serving 48 nations in Africa for education and health services. He's a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Life Fellow and President of The Telemedicine Society of India, and a member of various industry organizations, including ITU, IEEE, and Broadband India Forum. He also imparts his knowledge as a visiting faculty in esteemed institutions and consults on technology transfer and project execution. Currently, he is President Projects at Essjay Ericsson Pvt.
