Dr. B K Rana holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, a Diploma in German, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Health Management. He is the CEO of Quality & Accreditation Institute (QAI) and was previously the Director & CEO-In-charge of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) under the Quality Council of India. Dr. Rana is a Board Member of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) and serves as the President of the Asian Society for Quality in Healthcare (ASQua). He is also on the Board of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH). Dr. Rana is known for establishing India's national healthcare accreditation system with international benchmarks and has a substantial research and consulting background in healthcare quality, patient safety, accreditation, and telemedicine and eHealth.
