We extend a warm invitation to all our esteemed friends, colleagues, seniors, and respected delegates to join us for an unforgettable experience that will shape the course of our digital journey.

In these exhilarating times, the world is witnessing a seismic shift towards embracing emerging technologies at an unprecedented pace. The paradigm of healthcare is transforming, with a remarkable transition from traditional hospital care to the comforts of home. Physicians, once seen as sole authorities, now embrace collaborative partnerships with patients, empowering them to take charge of their well-being. The rise of home care and remote care is revolutionizing the way we nurture our health.

At the heart of this revolution lies the phenomenal growth of Artificial Intelligence. From mastering single tasks, AI has now transcended into the realm of human-like understanding and reasoning. The dawn of a new era beckons, where AI's brilliance might even surpass our own. Yet, amidst this digital revolution, it's essential to find clarity amidst the hype and frenzy. With media attention escalating, and a race to outshine one another, it's crucial to pause and reflect on the true potential of our innovations.

In light of this, we cordially invite you to join us in Goa – a melting pot of ideas, collaboration, and camaraderie. Unite with like-minded individuals from diverse fields, and let's delve into discussions that will redefine the boundaries of possibility.

Season’s greetings and a warm welcome from the organising team of Telemedicon 2023 in Goa on 3rd, 4th, 5th November 2023

The theme of the conference is “Emerging Technologies Connecting the Indian Healthcare System” In continuation to my Previous Message, we are happy to say that the preparation and planning for this prestigious academic feast is underway. We look forward to you all joining in large numbers to enjoy the Goan weather, Goan Culture, Goan Cusine, Goan Beaches, Goan fun & frolics.

The industry participation is heartening, registrations are in good progress, the scientific program is getting structured and the associate event planning is in full swing. For the novice and the early learners let me give you a brief that telemedicine is often used as a generic term to describe all forms of IT-enabled Healthcare reform, but in can best be thought of under four main themes, namely:

  1. Embracing a whole variety of Clinical Applications, Including:
    • Telemedicine (Virtual Consultations) as well as Vital Signs Monitoring for chronically ill patients.
    • Virtual outreach clinics supported by Video Conferencing, Telehealth & TeleCare, i.e. providing more healthcare services in the home environment.
    • ePrescribing and eBooking services to access to healthcare services in secondary and tertiary care centres.
  2. Providing eLearning through the use of the Web as an educational resource for the entire healthcare professional body who require their healthcare skills to be updated continuously throughout their working career.
  3. Delivering appropriate healthcare information to the general public through the use of all media channels such that population-based healthcare demand profiles can be changed as a result of empowering citizens with appropriate knowledge such that they take on more responsibility for providing for their own healthcare needs, proactive, precision medicine.
  4. Providing a lifetime health record for citizens which when depersonalised and the data is aggregated, can enable large scale population based epidemiological studies to be made in real time, such that adverse healthcare trends in defined population can be identified and strategies put in place to minimize the impact long before it was possible previously.

Today from Cradle to Grave we all need a longitudinal health record that’s interoperable in this flat world.

See you soon with more messages to come...

President Message:

Welcome to the Telemedicine Society of India's Conference on "Emerging Technologies Connecting Indian Healthcare System." As we convene here, it's essential to reflect on the transformative journey of telemedicine.

From its modest beginnings rooted in telephony to the current landscape, where artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and advanced connectivity solutions hold the potential to redefine healthcare in India. Our past demonstrates resilience, our present showcases progress, and our future promises boundless possibilities. Together, we'll explore how technology can break down barriers, improving access, quality, and efficiency in healthcare. Thank you for being part of this pivotal event.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 27th ISTeH International Conference and 19th.

International Conference of TSI: "Telemedicon 2023- Goa". The International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISTeH) is honored to partner with member organization TSI to host a conference with a befitting theme: Emerging Technologies Connecting Indian Healthcare Systems. In a post-pandemic world where digital health awareness is beyond the tipping point and the acceleration of global digital health initiatives is evident, India stands out as a global leader in digital health adoption and innovation in both the public and private sectors.

For 27 years, the ISfTeH has facilitated the international dissemination of knowledge and expertise in the field of telemedicine and provided access to digital health experts and resources worldwide. With over 110 countries and territories under our umbrella over the years, we serve as a global partner in digital health and continue to expand our reach and impact in this newly emerging healthcare ecosystem which incorporates digital tools.

International Society for Telemedicine and Health (ISfTeH)

Message from Executive Director of the ISfTeH

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is a singular honor and a distinct pleasure for me to welcome you all to this 2023 edition of Telemedicon.

The Telemedicine Society of India (TSI) holds a special place in the ISfTeH, as several key players in the ISfTeH’s management witnessed the birth of the TSI, which has been a national member since then. Today, the TSI is one of 37 national professional associations in the ISfTeH family, which includes associations, institutions, corporates and individuals in over 110 countries and territories. And in keeping with our tradition of sharing the spotlight in our engagement with organs of the Society, Telemedicon 2023 is also the 27th edition of our flagship ISfTeH International Conference.

This conference could not have come at a better time. With the corona virus pandemic having served as a global proof of concept for Telehealth, and the launch of our very own Global Connections for Sustainable Telehealth Summit in Silicon Valley in December 2022, this is an opportunity to hear from, and connect with, international experts and global thought leaders in the digital health space.

Among the many attractive features of this global event, we invite you to a special ISfTeH session, which will consist of two segments, each with ISfTeH luminaries sharing their knowledge, experiences and insights on various aspects of how countries, institutions and individuals go about realizing the benefits of the digital health revolution.

The ISfTeH extends to you all its significant opportunities to collaborate with these global players through membership in the Society and engagement with our various Working Groups and Committees. We all know the great benefits that digital technologies can bring to health and care. But these benefits are not enjoyed by all. Hence the raison-d’être of our WG on health disparities. How do we ensure that the significant benefits that AI and other digital technologies offer are accessible to, and affordable by, all those who need them, especially the most vulnerable amongst us. Our Society has previously postulated that the key challenge we face in the digital health space is that of converting our collective knowledge into a global public good, that is accessible to all, thus enabling each digital health actor to benefit from what others know. Join us in the Goa sessions to both share and learn: discover approaches, solutions and best practices regarding these and other engaging challenges facing the adoption and deployment of digital technologies to achieve universal health coverage.

I add my voice to the warm welcome already expressed on behalf of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth, by Dr. Michele Griffith, our President, and I invite you all to engage actively in what we know will be a very memorable conference for education, networking and business.
